The National Trail Parks and Recreation District is an extensive parks and recreation system encompassing a multitude of facilities and program opportunities for our residents. This Joint Recreation District was formed when the City of Springfield Parks and Recreation Department and the Clark County Recreation Department joined as one agency. The District manages over 1,000 acres of beautiful pa

rks and facilities and nearly 30 miles of multi-use trails. Our staff members are dedicated to providing quality parks, facilities, services and programs for the residents of Clark County. We share the vision to create community through people, parks and programs. National Trail Social Media Policy

Make a crown worth celebrating! In Birthday Crown Creation, participants ages 16 and older will learn simple sewing skills while creating a personalized felt birthday crown. Choose fun colors and add your own creative touches to make a crown to wear or give as a gift. This program will be held on Wednesday, September 23, at 5:30 p.m. at the Parks Administration Building. The cost is $15 per participant.

Start Smart soccer officially kicked off this week and while it was extremely hot, these kiddos love for soccer is on fire! Huge shout out to the parents who get to participate with us in our Start Smart program and are willing to be an integral role in their children’s learning! We can’t wait to see these kids talent grow!

A huge thank you to Greg West and Springfield Ohio Pickleball for going above and beyond to collect donations to purchase new wind screens for our pickleball courts, and for rolling up their sleeves and helping our staff with the installation!
We are so grateful for community members and organizations who invest their time, energy, and resources to make our parks even better. Partnerships like this are what make our community stronger and a better place to live, play, and connect.

Splash Zone is now closed for the 2026 season. Unfortunately, we have a significant pool maintenance issue that will be unable to be resolved by tomorrow. We are as disappointed as you! Dog Day is one of our favorite events to wrap up our season. Thank you for a fantastic 2026 season. We will see you in May of 2027!
