Dear Rosa Parks Families,

Please be advised that Preschool classes at Rosa Parks are canceled today, Tuesday, September 8, due to an HVAC issue. We expect repairs to be completed today and anticipate school resuming as normal tomorrow.
All staff members should still report at their regular scheduled time.

Student safety and comfort are our highest priorities. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation while we resolve this issue.

Tonight's Game of the Week matchup is the Dunbar Wolverines vs. the CCPA Lions. Kickoff is at 7 pm at Welcome Stadium! 🏈

DPS sets students up to Take Flight! ✈️🌟

Khayln Miller is a 2015 graduate of Thurgood Marshall STEM High School and now works as an aeronautical engineer for Boeing.

During Khayln's time at DPS, he was the Valedictorian, a Gates Scholar, a Jack Kent Cool Scholar, a LEDA Scholar, and more. Khayln credits students, staff, and experiences at DPS for the opportunity to graduate and soar!

Thank you for visiting, Captain Leon Moore and team!

Captain Moore, a Dayton native, stopped by Belmont High School on Tuesday to meet with the junior class and talk about his journey through the U.S. Navy and all the Navy has provided for him over his 35+ years of service.

After meeting with the juniors, the group spoke with our Navy JROTC students and allowed time for the cadets to ask any questions they had. Thank you for your service!

We want to thank the Stivers parents, students, and staff for coming out to today’s football discussion on such short notice. After listening to your concerns and suggestions, we’ve decided to move forward with the football season at Stivers School for the Arts. Thank you for your thoughtful, passionate comments in defense of your children and extracurricular activities.

The families of the Stivers football team will receive a written summary of today’s meeting and the plans moving forward within the next 24 hours via email, along with regular weekly updates in writing from the Athletics Department. Thank you again and we wish you a great season.

Yesterday, Kiser Elementary welcomed Lt. Governor Jim Tressel and his Team Tressel Fitness Challenge !

This fitness challenge is designed to help students in grades 3-8 incorporate fitness into their everyday lives.
