Having been founded in 1999, City Day Community School is one of Dayton's oldest community schools. Over the years, City Day's academic programming has evolved and is now a K-8 public community school offering a curriculum that is aligned to the Common Core State Standards. We believe that the success of our students will be dependent upon the collaborative efforts of our students, parents, teache
rs and administrators, whom all have high expectations for their learning. As our mission states, we truly want to assure that each student fulfills his/her potential in a safe environment that encourages academic excellence, while teaching them to be mutually respectful of themselves and the community at large. Our mission will be accomplished by:
Promoting an integrity based school operation in a safe, family friendly atmosphere;
Encouraging our students to strive for educational excellence;
Helping our parents develop the character of their young boys and girls
Maintaining positive parent, school, and community relationships;
Our teachers are "the best at getting better", which is a term used in our school to convey that we are open to becoming a learning organization and that we are always open to a more effective way of accomplishing tasks and educating our students.
