Its with heavy hearts that we make this announcement. This morning Chief William "Gator" Alligood awoke in heaven. Chief Alligood has been the cornerstone of Davisboro Volunteer Fire Department for quite some time. Over his 32 years of service to our community, he has poured more than his fair share of blood, sweat, and tears into building our department into what we are today. Chief Alligood has been a mentor, friend, and/or father figure to most every firefighter in the area. We will do our best to follow the legacy that he forged in service for others.

We’re proud to announce the purchase of a brand-new fire engine, made possible through funds from the recently approved fire tax. This is the first new engine that Davisboro Volunteer Fire Department has been able to obtain since 1973.

The new fire engine is built to meet current safety and performance standards, ensuring our firefighters have the tools they need to protect lives and property more effectively. With enhanced technology, improved reliability, and greater capacity, we’re better equipped than ever to serve our community.

Thank you for your continued support-we’re building a safer future together!
