The City of Davis Animal Control is helping bring an affordable mobile vaccination clinic to Davis!

This is a great opportunity to help keep your pets healthy AND make sure your dog is properly licensed with the City.

PLANNED WATER OUTAGE – CEDAR DRIVE and ASPEN LANE

The City of Davis will have a planned water outage along Cedar Drive and Aspen Lane beginning at 1:00 PM today, September 8, while City crews replace a fire hydrant. We expect the repair to last up to two hours.

Residents in the affected area may experience a temporary loss of water service during the work.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this necessary maintenance to improve our water system. 💧

🇺🇸🏍️ A Special Visit to Davis! 🇦🇺

Davis recently welcomed a group of Australian motorcycle riders traveling across America to honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11. The group will be wrapping up its ride in this week. Learn more about the 16-day trip from Los Angeles to New York by following the 343 Firefighter Memorial Ride 2026 page.

During their visit, they enjoyed Iron Wolf Coffee House and visited the Turner Falls Overlook, giving our community another great opportunity to showcase what Davis has to offer.

🔥🚫 MURRAY COUNTY BURN BAN REMAINS IN EFFECT 🚫🔥

Effective immediately, the Murray County Burn Ban remains in effect for up to 7 days from August 31, 2026.

📍 This burn ban applies to ALL of Murray County, including:
🏙️ City of Davis
🏞️ Turner Falls Park
🏕️ Cross Bar Ranch

With dry conditions continuing, one spark can start a wildfire. Please help protect our community, visitors, homes, and natural areas by following the burn ban.

🚫 PROHIBITED

❌ Outdoor campfires and bonfires, including fire pits
❌ Burning of grass, forests, range crops, brush, trash, or other materials
❌ Fireworks
❌ Any activity that could start a wildfire

🍔 OUTDOOR COOKING

LPG/natural gas grills and charcoal or wood-fired grills/smokers are permitted ONLY when:

✅ Used on a non-flammable surface
✅ Located at least 5 feet from flammable vegetation
✅ A fire watch is present with pressurized water or a fire extinguisher readily available

🔥 WELDING, CUTTING & GRINDING

These activities are permitted only when:

✅ Conducted on a non-combustible surface at least 10' x 10'
✅ Welding blankets/screens are used
✅ Wind speeds are less than 20 mph

⚠️ ENFORCEMENT
Anyone violating the burn ban may be charged with a misdemeanor and may be subject to fines and/or imprisonment.

The burn ban may be extended if dangerous conditions continue or lifted early if conditions improve.
