The Yolo County Democratic Party proudly endorses Eric Garber for Woodland Joint Unified School District School Board, Trustee Area 7.

Eric brings 27 years in public education to this race. He has worked as a classroom teacher, a district curriculum coordinator, and for the past five years, a school principal. He holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from UC Davis and has spent the last 15 years studying education policy at the local, state, and federal level. His priorities reflect that experience: stronger special education staffing and services, closing the opportunity gap for low-income students, and real transparency with families when budgets get tight. The Woodland Education Association has endorsed Eric, citing his commitment to academic achievement, stronger special education, community voice and transparency, and educator recruitment and retention.

The Yolo County Democratic Party is proud to endorse Dr. Jesse Ortiz for Woodland City Council, District 1. Jesse was born and raised in Woodland, graduated from Woodland High School, and has spent more than forty years as a public servant fighting for this community.

He's led as Yolo County Superintendent of Schools, served on the Woodland School Board, served on the Woodland Parks & Recreation Commission, and currently represents Woodland and Esparto on the Yuba Community College District Board. Jesse is a Marine Corps Vietnam-era veteran who has spent decades coaching youth sports and volunteering with Yolo County Special Olympics, demonstrating the same hands-on commitment to Woodland families that he'll bring to the City Council. As a Council Member, he will prioritize public safety, fiscal responsibility, smart economic development, and expanded opportunities for youth, along with preserving downtown Woodland and the agricultural heritage that defines this city.

The Yolo County Democratic Party is proud to endorse Preston Jackson for West Sacramento City Council, District 3.

Preston has spent his career in the classroom and on the track as a teacher and coach. When the community needed steady leadership most, he stepped up: as President of the Washington Unified School District Board, Preston helped guide West Sacramento's schools through the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the hardest tests any local leader has faced. He brought that same dedication and tenacity to the Planning Commission, and now he is ready to bring it to the City Council. West Sacramento needs someone who will repair its roads, invest in real public safety and behavioral health response, and expand housing that working families can actually afford, without pushing out the neighbors who already live here. Preston has already shown he can lead through hard moments and get results. He has earned the support of community leaders including current District 3 Council Member Dr. Dawnté Early and Washington Unified Trustee Jackie Thu-Huong Wong.
