In 1972, Broward College‘s Institute of Public Safety (IPS) was established. Forty years later, the proof of IPS’s achievements as a respected training center is clearly visible in the quality of the public servants that serve the State of Florida today. Academies are certified as an FDLE/CJSTC Training Center and offer basic training and continuing education for criminal justice officers. Associate at IPS include Criminal Justice, Crime Scene and Fire Science Technology. IPS is also home to Army and Air Force ROTC offerings. Within our multi-million dollar facility are virtual and realistic training venues for educational and professional development. Online classes, comprehensive hands-on instruction and state-of-the-art training from instructors with practical experience provide an innovative, quality workforce education for all.

This high-impact, completely free training is designed specifically for our first responder community—including Law Enforcement, Corrections, Firefighters, Paramedics, EMTs, and Telecommunication Operators.
