Join the Town of Davidson and the Davidson Garden Club for the 2nd Annual Scarecrow Competition. The Scarecrow Competition will take place Friday, October 16 - Friday, October 23 at Beaty Park. Details for the event are below, see the link in the comments and for more information!

~Sites where scarecrows can be set up are marked with bamboo stakes and Davidson Garden Club signs.
~You can build your scarecrow onsite or offsite and bring it in. NOTE: Beware of poison ivy in the woods!
~Please know that we might incur rain during the competition which will cause the scarecrow to get wet.
~Be sure to anchor your scarecrow well so it doesn't fall over. All installation equipment must cause no permanent damage.
~Mark the scarecrow with your name and phone number.
~Each scarecrow will have a QR code attached where people can vote for their favorite. Please only 1 vote per person.
~Scarecrows will be up from Friday, October 16 - Friday October 23.
~Be sure to remove all scarecrow material by Saturday, October 24.

Beaty Park (832 Beaty Street) consists of approximately 20 acres of parkland at the northern entrance into Davidson and Mecklenburg County.

This park has so much to offer:
-five raised garden beds and a pollinator maze garden 🌷
-an ADA fishing pier 🐟
-a playground 🌞
-and so much more!!

Today we are highlighting Plum Creek Park! Have you enjoyed this space yet?

Plum Creek Park is home to 2 tennis courts, a basketball court, 3 pickleball courts, and a bocce ball court. The park also includes a playground with swings, an open field for various play, 2 shelters, and restroom facilities.

Another successful week of Camp Davidson: Townie Trek & Trails!

Camp activities included exploring the Lake Davidson Nature Preserve on foot and by boat (kayak or canoe), learning archery at Fisher Farm, environmental education with the Town Arborist and Sustainability Manager, and exploring a new bike safety course and town greenway system with the Davidson Police Department.
