Bugs beware… some of our Matches spent last Tuesday night at the Quad City Botanical Center learning how some plants can actually eat bugs (wild, right?). Then, they potted their very own parlor plants before exploring the Sun Garden and outdoor gardens at golden hour! Thank you QCBC for another amazing night. This place never disappoints!🌱☀️😊

🌟 Meet Faith & Stella, our newest Big/Little match! 🌟

As the school year kicks off, we're taking a moment to celebrate the incredible volunteers who stepped up this summer. Over July and August, we ran a special recruitment push called Project Starfish: 25 Bigs in 25 Days, and we welcomed in a wave of new mentors.

Among them was Faith, matched with her Little, Stella. The two clicked right away!

When asked why she wanted to become a Big, Faith said, "As a teacher in Davenport, I know how important it is to uplift youth and give back to the community. BBBS positively impacted my family growing up, and I wanted to help make that difference for another family if I could. I also know how much fun it will be!"

Up next: their first official outing at the Putnam Museum!
