Say hello to our seven newest clinicians! Whether they are starting their very first EMS shift or bringing years of experience to our rigs, weโ€™re honored to have them on the MEDIC of Scott County team. ๐Ÿš‘

They just finished orientation and will now progress to several weeks of system certification.

Good luck to them all! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Please join us in congratulating our newest Field Supervisor, Brittney Welcome

Welcome has been an incredible asset to our team as a dedicated paramedic, consistently delivering exceptional patient care and showing true clinical leadership on the street. Now, they are stepping up to help guide, support, and mentor our crews in this new leadership role.

We are incredibly proud to see Welcome take this next step in their career. We know our teamsโ€”and our communityโ€”are in excellent hands! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

The Iowa Donor Network honored the EMS responders of Scott County with a Challenge Coin at the Scott County Administration Building.

Scott County EMS sets the standard by transporting the most patients whose donations resulted in 26 organ transplants in Iowa.

This event shows light on some of the darkest of days. We are extremely grateful for the families and patients that made a difficult but profound decision to give life to another.

Thank you to all responders that answer the call, everyday.

Departments honored; MEDIC of Scott County and MED-COM, Bettendorf Fire Department, Davenport Fire Department, Eldridge Fire Department, and Long Grove Fire Department.

This Memorial Day, we stand in silence to remember the heroes who gave everything for our country. We are forever in their debt.

To those who sacrificed, and the families they left behindโ€”we honor you today and every day.

Caring for our community takes a special kind of person, and for many years Paramedic Division Supervisor Lange has done exactly that. Whether responding to emergencies, supporting patients and families or keeping MEDIC EMS of Scott County in-line, his commitment to serving others has been clear every day. While retirement marks the end of a career, the impact of that service will continue well beyond today.

Congratulations and best wishes on your retirement, Kevin Lange! Thank you for your 38 years of dedicated service.

Improving Outcomes, Together. ๐Ÿš‘

Behind every emergency call is a human connectionโ€”a stabilized patient, a held hand, and a life changed well before reaching the hospital.

Todayโ€™s EMS clinicians bring advanced care, from early stroke recognition to whole blood transfusions, to cities and rural communities alike. But truly improving outcomes means supporting the people behind the patch. We must invest in our crews with safe staffing, mental health resources, and fair pay.

This week, we honor our EMS heroes and commit to standing by them, just as they stand by us. Thank you for all you do! ๐Ÿ’™

To make this milestone even more exciting, Manager Beale had the honor of leading his ASM Capstone Research team, and their group's hard work has been selected for presentation at the upcoming Pinnacle EMS Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA!

We often talk about the "Chain of Survival," and our 2025 CARES data proves just how strong that chain is here in Scott County! ๐Ÿ”—๐Ÿ’›

MEDIC is proud to report that our community's survival rates for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests are crushing both state and national averages. With a 47.1% Utstein Survival Rate, our local system of rapid 911 dispatch, incredible bystander CPR, and paramedic/EMT care is saving lives at an extraordinary level.

Thank you to our dedicated crews, dispatchers, our first responder partners, and the citizens who jump into action when their community needs them most. Nearly half of our cardiac arrest patients received CPR from a bystander before EMS arrival!

Take a look at the data below to see how we're setting a standard of excellence in EMS. Are you ready to be the first link in the chain? Learn CPR today! โฌ‡๏ธ

We had an absolute blast at the "Heroes and Heavy Equipment" event over at Scott County Secondary Roads! ๐Ÿš‘ ๐Ÿšœ๐Ÿš“๐Ÿš›

It was a great to connect with our fellow county employees, elected officials, and partner agencies, while showcasing our new rig right alongside all of the equipment used to serve our community!

A huge thank you to Scott County Secondary Roads for hosting such a fantastic get-together. It takes a whole lot of different vehicles, and the amazing people who operate them, to keep our county running safely and smoothly! ๐Ÿ’›
