Once again, a criminal who entered our country illegally has taken the life of an innocent American on our streets. This tragedy unfolded in a so-called "sanctuary city" governed by Democrats at every level—mayor and governor alike—where reckless policies put citizens at risk. Sheridan Gorman, a promising Loyola University student, was senselessly murdered by Jose Medina-Medina, an illegal alien from Venezuela. Despite multiple arrests, he was continually released onto Chicago’s streets instead of being handed over to ICE and removed from our country. This was not just a failure—it was a betrayal of public trust and safety. Enough is enough. It’s time to hold the real enablers accountable: the mayors and governors who defiantly protect criminal aliens while innocent lives are lost. Under Illinois statute 720 ILCS 5/5-2, anyone who aids, abets, solicits, or facilitates a crime can be prosecuted and sentenced as if they committed the crime themselves. By shielding repeat offenders and obstructing federal law, sanctuary cities and states are complicit in these tragedies. It’s time for justice—for Sheridan, for her family, and for every American endangered by these reckless policies.

I see what is happening in Washington and Des Moines, and I have thoughts. I'm running for the Iowa 49th Senate District, and the election is coming in November. The midterms are approaching, and we find ourselves at a crossroads. Too often, our votes are cast based on party lines, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual preference—superficial factors that distract from what truly matters. These are not valid reasons to entrust someone with the responsibility of representing your interests in government. Demand more from your leaders. Demand integrity, vision, and accountability. Let a person's "content of character"—their principles, actions, and proven values—be your guide.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's wife, Rama Duwaj: Given that one of Mamdani's key campaign pledges to New Yorkers centers on making housing more accessible in the notoriously expensive metropolis, his wife's expensive footwear became a target. Duwaji's high-end shoes on social media after the city's First Lady appeared in $630 Miista boots while accompanying her husband as he was sworn in with a QUARN on January 1. "They want New Yorkers to hand over more than half their income to the government while she wears designer boots worth your weekly paycheck,". "Classic Communists - rules for you, but not for them. There are reasons Communism has failed everywhere it's been tried. Good luck, New York,"!

When do we finally say, "Enough is enough"? Time and again, we witness stories like these, and our hearts ache as nothing changes. We watch Congressional hearings, hoping for justice, only to see them end in silence—no one held accountable, hard questions dodged, and truth left unspoken. This fraud in Minnesota is real, and it feels as if those responsible will simply walk away, untouched. Governor Tim Walz and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar—names we know are now at the center of swirling questions. Omar and her husband’s wealth reportedly soared by 3500% in a single year, growing by over $30 million. How can this happen in the midst of the largest fraud in our nation’s history, with no one asking the hard questions? What if money meant for those in need found its way instead to dangerous hands? Omar’s husband quietly removed nine officers from his company’s website—names that echo through recent political history: former Ambassador to Bahrain Adam Ereli, former Ambassador to China Max Baucus, DNC Finance Chair associate Alex Hoffman, former DNC treasurer William Derrough, and ex-CEO of Amalgamated Bank Keith Mestrich. The New York Post shines a light on these connections, but will anyone demand answers? Our sense of justice depends on it.

Democrats outrageously blame the victims for auto thefts. (source: Washington Examiner,) Is anyone shocked by this? Auto theft isn’t some minor oversight—it’s a brazen, destructive crime. But in blue states, Democratic attorneys general are bending over backwards to shield criminals, casting the automakers as the true culprits behind the explosion in car thefts. It’s no wonder businesses and families are desperately fleeing these lawless, crumbling blue states, seeking refuge in red states where actual criminals—not innocent people or companies—are finally held accountable.

Today, I read an account detailing how a single soldier managed to save approximately 200 Jewish prisoners of war without resorting to violence during World War II. This incident took place at a German POW camp in Ziegenhain, Germany. The camp commandant ordered all Jewish prisoners to report the following morning—an order widely understood to be a precursor to their ex*****on. At morning roll call, the senior-ranking prisoner, a Master Sergeant, positioned himself at the front of the assembled group as the camp commandant arrived. Instead of forming a separate group for the Jewish prisoners, all inmates stood together in solidarity. When the commandant instructed the Master Sergeant to identify and separate the Jewish prisoners, the Sergeant firmly responded, "We are all Jews here." The prisoners—regardless of faith or belief, whether Christian, Jewish, or atheist—stood united. This act of solidarity exemplifies the ethical imperative to reject violence and discrimination on the basis of religion. If one's beliefs advocate otherwise, those beliefs warrant serious re-evaluation. A more harmonious society is achievable if we embrace the principle of live and let live.

This is the alleged shooter of two National Guard soldiers in our nation's capital. He is an Afghan national who was allowed into the country by the Biden Administration and traveled from Washington state with the intent to kill American servicemen. The unrelenting rhetoric from the Socialist Democrats, amplified by the mainstream media, contributes to division and tragedy in this country. Yet no one will be held accountable—neither elected officials nor news personalities. Our armed forces deserve the highest esteem from a thankful nation, as do all federal agencies working to keep citizens safe. When I turn on the news and see “Americans” protesting their efforts, I am reminded that some have not experienced such tragedy firsthand. Today is Thanksgiving; as they stand guard over you, perhaps you could show some appreciation. God bless America and all those who stand guard!

Today, I came across a powerful quote that truly struck a chord with me, particularly given the current state of our nation. With socialists being elected and many cities transforming into shadows of what they once were—similar to regions we associate with turmoil—it’s more relevant than ever. The quote states, "Free men will never consent to relinquish the means of defending their liberties." This sentiment resonates deeply: we must stand firm and protect our freedoms at all costs!

On November 10th, we come together to commemorate the 250th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps. As a proud Disabled Marine Veteran, I have great respect for the accomplishments of the Corps and the dedicated men and women who serve, making it one of the most distinguished and honorable military organizations in the world. Eleanor Roosevelt eloquently remarked, "The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!” Amen.
