ABOUT CONCERT ON THE GREEN

The Concert on the Green event began in 2002 to replace the long tradition of the Policemen's Ball. The concert allows for more of a family based event and incorporates music with the outdoors along with a picnic type of atmosphere. Held at the U-Mass Dartmouth Vietnam Veterans Peace Memorial Amphitheater, this open air venue allows concert-goers to enjoy the music or h

ead over to the picnic area nearby where hamburgers, hotdog's and other sandwiches are available along with drinks and other treats. Area classic car owners are encouraged to bring their classic cars and park them in a special area on the event grounds where they can be viewed by the public. Free admission and dash plaques will be given to the first 100 classic car participants. Musical entertainment will be provided by "Another Tequila Sunrise" an Eagles tribute band and "D.J. Gene Daniels", a familiar face with all our events, will be providing live musical entertainment and emcee duties as he has for so many years .There is entertainment for the kids and adults alike. Along with all this there will be 50 / 50 raffles and prizes, Glow sticks for the kids, Mardi gras beads, food and drinks available and much more.
