The recount for the 9th Bristol District has officially concluded. 🗳️

In New Bedford, four additional votes were tallied—two for Ed Pacheco, and two for myself(correction from what I said in the video). In Dartmouth, precinct numbers shifted slightly, but the net outcome remained unchanged. With the process complete, Ed Pacheco is the Democratic nominee for the general election, and I want to congratulate him on his victory.

I have many people to Thank but before that.... there are a few important reflections from this journey that I want to share:

Integrity Matters: Running for office puts you under an immense microscope and brings daily pressures that are hard to describe. But I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. From day one, I promised our team that we would win or lose with our integrity intact. We ran a clean, positive race focused strictly on the issues and what our community needed, and we never engaged in personal attacks. We held to that value until the very end.

Every Vote Counts: We have over 40,000 registered voters in this district, yet fewer than 10,000 cast a ballot. Please, do your homework before walking into the booth. Research every candidate and every question. An educated, participating community is the backbone of our democracy.

Respect for the Process: It was an eye-opening experience to watch a hand recount up close today. Thank you to our town clerks, registrars, and election workers in both Dartmouth and New Bedford for their professionalism and meticulous work, as well as the observers from both campaigns who stood watch for transparency.

To our grassroots team: My gratitude to each of you is endless and can never truly be repaid.

To my executive team and everyone working behind the scenes since day one.

To everyone who hosted one of our 530+ lawn signs! (Please don't throw them away—our team will be picking them all up over the next day or two!)

To the volunteers who helped organize and host our campaign events.

To everyone who dialed voters weekly on our phone banks.

To our canvassers who sacrificed their weekends and evenings to knock doors in the summer heat.
To the 45–55 supporters who turned out for our visibilities and stood holding signs in the pouring rain.

To our poll watchers, recount observers, and everyone who contributed to help fund this campaign from day one.... all the way to the very end.

This was a 100% grassroots campaign powered by the people who live and work right here in our community. Don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise.

I am not going anywhere. You will still see me volunteering across our neighborhoods, working hard as a Realtor helping South Coast families, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Thank you for believing in me and for this incredible opportunity. See you around the South Coast! 😊

We just officially filed for a full district-wide hand recount in Boston—and we need your help to protect every single vote.

I just stepped off the Commuter Rail returning home from Boston, where earlier today around 1:00 PM, I officially submitted our petitions and paperwork to the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Elections Division to request a full district-wide hand recount for the 9th Bristol District. 🎥👇

When I arrived at the state office, I learned that my opponent, Ed Pacheco, had also filed paperwork for a recount earlier in the day.

That shows something important: both campaigns recognize just how razor-thin this election is across Dartmouth and New Bedford, and both agree that the final tally must be verified with absolute certainty.

A recount is not about division or overturning an outcome. It is about election integrity, transparency, and honoring the fundamental right of every voter to have their legal ballot counted. If every vote is hand-counted and my opponent is ahead, he will have my respect as our Democratic nominee. And if our numbers hold and we pull ahead, I will proudly lead our party into November.

To see this process through the right way, our campaign faces an unexpected hurdle: the cost.

Conducting a thorough district-wide hand recount requires hiring experienced legal counsel specializing in Massachusetts election law and coordinating trained observers across every single precinct. This was an expense our grassroots campaign could not have planned for during our primary fundraising.

Our campaign has always been people-powered—funded by everyday working families, neighbors, and friends and we have yet to receive any money from special interests. We cannot protect this count without your help today.

If you believe that every legal vote must be accounted for and want to ensure a fair, transparent outcome, please consider chipping in $25, $50, or whatever you can to our recount legal fund:

Every voter across Dartmouth and New Bedford deserves absolute confidence in our election results. 🎥👇

Please share this out!!

Yesterday, an email was circulated by my opponent claiming victory, alleging that 51 ballots were left 'uncounted,' and suggesting that someone is trying to 'take the election away.'

Let’s set the record straight: nobody is taking an election from anybody.

Earlier this afternoon, I spoke directly with the Town Clerk’s office. The claim that 51 ballots were left uncounted is simply false. Those hand-tallies from election night will be added to the unofficial count. This entire district-wide race will come down to just over 10 votes.

When an election comes down to just over 10 votes, the outcome may change or it may not. But that is why Massachusetts law provides a recount process. Moving forward with a full, district-wide hand recount is the responsible way to guarantee that every legal vote was accurately recorded and that voters have total certainty in the final outcome.

Rushing to declare victory, spreading misinformation about uncounted ballots, and attacking the integrity of our local election staff is wrong—especially coming from a Democratic candidate.

We welcome complete transparency. If every legal ballot is hand-counted and my opponent is ahead, he will have my respect as our nominee. And if we pull ahead, I will proudly lead our party into November. That is how democracy works.

Rain or shine, this grassroots team shows up! 🌧️🚪
A massive thank you to the 21 incredible volunteers—family, friends, and neighbors—who spent yesterday knocking on doors in the rain throughout the North End of New Bedford. Seeing our group continue to grow with every single walk is humbling, inspiring, and proof of what a true community-powered campaign looks like.

A special shout-out to all our first-time canvassers! We had so many folks stepping out for the very first time who shared how much fun they had having genuine conversations with neighbors (and yes, snapping a few rainy-day selfies along the way 📸). Our team keeps the energy high, keeps it fun, and makes sure no one walks alone.

We’re keeping our boots on the ground and knocking doors all the way through the election—and we’d love to have you with us! Whether you want to join an organized group walk or prefer to knock on doors right on your own street, we’ll get you set up with everything you need.

👉 Want to help out? Send me a personal message here, and we’ll get you a list and get you rolling!

Thank you again to everyone who makes this movement so special. Let’s keep this momentum going!
