It serves an area of approximately 73 square miles, covering roughly 2,827 residents, and provides both BLS medical services and fire protection. Severe storms are likely across central Indiana Wednesday afternoon into the evening and overnight hours. All hazards are possible, including damaging to destructive winds, large hail, and tornadoes. Flash flooding is also possible.

A line of strong to severe storms across east central Illinois will move into western Indiana around 9:00 PM EDT. The main threats will be wind gusts of 60-70 mph, heavy rainfall with ponding of water on roads, and small hail.

You may have noticed our flag is at half staff. Today, a few members of the department will be traveling to pay their respects to Firefighter/EMT Justin Hurd, from Fountain County.

Our flag will remain at half staff through the end of next week in observance of Memorial Day, honoring all the brave men and women who have given their lives for our country.
