Darlington Township Volunteer Fire Department The Darlington Township Volunteer Fire Department, founded in 1926, has served Darlington and surrounding communities for more than 90 years.

For 100 years Darlington Township Volunteer Fire Department has served Darlington Borough, Darlington Township & surrounding communities with fire protection and community events! Staffed entirely by volunteers, the VFD responds to a range of emergencies any time day or night, including fires, car accidents and weather-related emergencies. The fire department is also available for fire station tours and other community education programs. As a community organization and non-profit, the department relies on financial support from the community to purchase and maintain tools and equipment and stay on top of training. This is why it is so important for the VFD to continually run fundraisers. Without them, the department could not exist as it does today. The fire department meets on the first Tuesday evening of each month. DTVFD is Station 18. Fire Chief: Chris Laderer

Today 4 of the 5 members who went through the fire academy had their graduation ceremony! Congrats to Devon Puglia, Shelby Bond, Nate Stiefel and Eric Oneill who are pictured with Chief Jason Wade and President Mike Maga. Also congrats to Andrew Opalka who was not pictured but passed the academy as well! We are proud of you all! Keep up the great work! Thank you to the Beaver County FireFighters Association for hosting another academy!

This evening into tonight your station 18 members and our families had a cookout at the station. It was a nice time to relax, eat some good food, sit, chit chat and enjoy the comradity of each others presence! After the cookout Engine 181 and Brush 18 are standing by for fireworks coverage at the New Galilee Carnival along with Big Beaver Borough Volunteer Fire Company. Thankfully the rain stopped in time! It was a great day!

This evening the younger members of station 18 trained in rural water supply and drafting. We set up our drop tank and pulled water to our engine to give the younger guys and girls a hand in drafting and pump operations! It was a good training and I hope they learned a good bit from it! This past week members of Station 18 and many other agency members participated in the Hazardous Materials Operations Refresher course put on by the Beaver County FireFighters Association. In this course we refreshed on our HazMat ERG guidebook/App, talked a lot about terrorism and WMD and also did a few scenarios. We also touched on drone usage for hazmat and mass casualty incidents! It was a good refresher that is required every year. Good work all!
Thank you instructors Don Knight and Chuck Ward for teaching the class and also thank you Josh Foster from East Palestine Fire Department for bringing out their drones to demonstrate!
