There is a place for every student at DHS to engage in something they love and learn leadership skills starting in 9th grade. From gardening, to Falcon Young Men, to JROTC, Band, Student Government...the list goes on and on of ways you can be involved in student life at DHS. This was evident during our RISE UP ceremony for seniors on May 27th.

Darlington High announces Christopher Hooks as head varsity girls basketball coach

DARLINGTON, S.C. – Christopher Hooks, a 2014 graduate of Darlington High School (DHS), will return to his alma mater as the new head coach for the girls varsity basketball program. The school announced the hiring Wednesday afternoon.

Hooks excelled as a student-athlete during his time at DHS, playing both basketball and baseball. In both sports he earned All-Region honors and helped guide the boys basketball team to a Lower State title his senior year.

He continued his basketball career at Denmark Technical College and, later, Claflin University.

For the past two seasons, Hooks has served as head coach of the Southside Middle School basketball program. He earned Coach of the Year honors this school year.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Performance and Recreation from Claflin.
