Are you ready to serve?

Recruiting candidates to run for seats in the state Senate and House of Representatives isn’t the easiest thing to do.

That’s why at this point in the state’s political calendar, heading toward the fall elections, 75 of 187 General Assembly districts may have only one candidate on the Nov. 3 ballot.

Most of the shortfall in interest has to do with geography and demographics.

A beautiful evening in Weston for the kickoff of Samantha Nestor’s campaign for Connecticut State Senate, District 26.

Supporters from across the district gathered to hear from Samantha and Democratic leaders, including Senate President Martin Looney and Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, about the importance of this election and the work ahead.

Great to see so many Darien Democrats there to show their support, including DTC Chair Erika Procaccini, Deputy Treasurer Kate Haavik, former First Selectman Evonne Klein, and many others.

We’re excited to help elect Samantha Nestor to the State Senate this November.
