I am deeply saddened by Governor Beshear’s veto of SB 9, The Born Alive Infant Protection Act. In a time when we should be focused on the value of each and every life, he has vetoed a bill that simply would require physicians and other health caregivers to provide lifesaving medical care to infants who survive an abortion. Sadly, with this veto, the Governor has shown he does not share the values of the good people of Kentucky. I look forward to the next Session of the General Assembly when members of the House and Senate can right this wrong and restore the focus on not only life but kindness to the most innocent in need.
