Join us for a community roundtable on gun violence prevention with Congresswoman Robin Kelly, author of the Kelly Report on Gun Violence in America—an in-depth congressional analysis on gun violence in our country and Mary Catherine Roberson for IL State Representative - District 104, local advocate and Director of Constituent Services for Illinois’ Second Congressional District.

We'll hear from local leaders, youth, and community members about what's working right here in Vermilion County and learn from successful strategies being implemented across Illinois and the country. Hope you can make it!

GOOD MORNING DEMS!! Today is a beautiful day in the VC. Sun is shining and while warm, it's not horribly hot!

Today is VC Pridefest at Ellsworth Park. Chair Amy will be out there, please stop by and say hey... or watch the table so she can shop the vendors and get a bite to eat lol. You'll also see our Treasurer Ruthie Gomez as she's the VC Pride Coalition President and our Secretary Bonnie Newberry is the VC Pride Coalition's VP of Programming. They won't be at the table, more like running around making sure every thing runs smoothly!

Need to get your steps in? Stop by the VC Dems HQ at 15 N. Vermilion Danville and join Mary Catherine Roberson at 11am for the Youth Day of Action. They'll be hitting the streets and knocking on doors to promote her campaign. And then cool off tonight in Urbana with a fundraiser for MC featuring music by New Souls!

And who did we spy being spotlighted by Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton ? Danville's own Malia Roberson with her mentor Nikita Richards Calahan. Malia, daughter of Mary Catherine Roberson recently participated in the Illinois Girls Lead Program, a collaboration between the Lt. Governor's office and the Illinois Council on Women and Girls.
