What is happening at DACC has left a lot of people hurting, frustrated, and asking hard questions.

These recent dismissals are not just personnel decisions on paper. They affect real people, real families, and the culture of an institution that should be centered on students, trust, and opportunity.

When staff speak of fear, low morale, and a loss of confidence, our community should pay attention. Vermilion County deserves leadership that is fair, transparent, and grounded in integrity.

The Vermilion County Democratic Party believes DACC should be a place where people are respected, students come first, and public trust is protected.

We are standing with those calling for fairness, transparency, and accountability.

Today we encourage you to support Danville alderman Jaleel Jones as he travels to the Edgar County Courthouse after a recent violent altercation aimed at he and his family.
If you would like to show your support in person today’s hearing will take place in Courtroom 1 at 1:30 pm at the Edgar County Courthouse.

Danville Area Community College is currently going through the process of voting for a new student trustee. While we heard about this a bit late, we did want to give our support to Leonidas (Leo) Hazma.

In the brief time we have met and worked with Leo we have been very impressed with his compassion, drive, thoughtfulness, voice, integrity, and willingness to jump in and help wherever he is needed. Particularly with the clothing drive we assisted with several months ago for the unhoused in Vermilion County. We are proud to consider him our teammate and friend. We urge the DACC community to vote for Leo.
