Mark your calendars for the next free Cannon class in August. The Tuesday, August 18 class, titled Tales from the Crypt (Constitution Avenue): IRS Tools and Tactics to Collect a Delinquent Tax Liability, will focus on estate, gift and income tax liens, transferee liability, personal liability of fiduciaries and tax penalties.

A free lunch will be provided to attendees so registration is required. Call our office for more information or to register.

Do you have documents that need to be shredded? Drop them off tomorrow during Danville Riverview Rotary's Free Paper Shredding Event at Woodall Nissan.

๐Ÿ“„๐Ÿ”’ Join Us for a Free Paper Shredding Event!

Danville Riverview Rotary is hosting a Paper Shredding Event on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at Woodall Nissan, located at 132 Union Street Bridge.

Bring your old tax forms, outdated documents, financial records, or anything you need securely destroyed. This is a safe, confidential way to clear out clutter and protect your personal information.

There is no charge for shredding, but donations are appreciated and will support our community service projects.

We look forward to seeing you there and helping you shred with confidence!

Way to go Halifax County! Thanks to your gifts, the matching gift challenge held during the month of May was a success.

Your recent gifts to the endowed fund will increase the grant support we are able to award to nonprofit organizations in Halifax every year. Since The Foundation was formed 30 years ago more than $1 million has been distributed to nonprofit organizations in Halifax County.

On Thursday, June 4 we celebrated the scholarship recipients for the 2026-27 academic year. This year, we awarded 181 scholarships totaling $412,490 to 165 students.

We greatly enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate this year's recipients and wish them all the best as their pursue their bachelor's and master's degrees in the fall.

We had a wonderful time celebrating this year's scholarship recipients at our annual Scholarship Reception tonight in Chatham.

During last year's reception we awarded 165 scholarships to 152 students for a total of $369,584.

A special thanks to our donors who made all of these scholarships possible.
