Monday Night Countywide Training

Monday night, Boyle County Fire Department personnel participated in countywide training focused on essential fireground operations and firefighter safety.

Training consisted of fire attack operations, apparatus placement, water supply and pumping operations, and environmental awareness. Crews worked together to reinforce the skills and coordination necessary to operate safely and effectively on the fireground.

Hands-on, realistic training like this helps ensure our firefighters are prepared to respond when our community needs us most.

Participating departments includes- Boyle County Fire Dept, Danville Fire Dept., Perryville Fire Dept & Junction City, Fire Dept.

Boyle County Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire on Airport Road

August 31, 2026

At approximately 7:12 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, Air Evac 56 initially reported the fire to the Danville 911 Center while operating in the air. The Boyle County Fire Department was subsequently notified of a reported working structure fire on Airport Road.

Boyle County Fire Department units responded to the location and, upon arrival, encountered a large residential structure with heavy fire and smoke showing.

Firefighters quickly determined that the incident location was actually within Lincoln County. The Lincoln County Fire Department was subsequently dispatched to the scene to assist with firefighting operations.

Boyle County firefighters immediately began an aggressive fire attack and were able to quickly knock down the fire, preventing the flames from causing more extensive damage to the residence. While the structure did sustain damage, firefighters’ rapid response and coordinated efforts helped limit the overall extent of the fire.

The incident was a joint firefighting effort between the Boyle County Fire Department and Lincoln County Fire Department, with personnel from both departments working together to bring the fire under control.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation at this time. No additional information regarding the cause will be released while the investigation is ongoing.

Members of the Boyle County Fire Department Monday participated in hands-on water supply and fireground operations training designed to strengthen our skills and improve our ability to work together during large-scale incidents.

Firefighters practiced a variety of operations, including:

-Water shuttle operations
-Water winching from tank to tank
-Portable tank setup and water supply
-Deck gun operations
-Monitor operations

These exercises allow our firefighters to practice establishing and maintaining a continuous water supply, coordinate multiple apparatus, and operate large-volume water streams effectively. 

Training like this is critical to ensuring our crews are prepared to operate safely and efficiently when responding to incidents where a dependable water supply is limited or unavailable.

Boyle County Fire Department was proud to spend some time with the amazing campers and staff at Camp Horsin’ Around, helping everyone cool off during today’s water activities!

Our firefighters enjoyed bringing one of our fire engines out and creating a safe water spray for campers to run through and enjoy. Seeing the smiles, laughter, and excitement on everyone’s faces made it a great day for all involved.

Community events like these are a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with the citizens we serve while providing a fun and memorable experience.

A special thank you to Camp Horsin’ Around for inviting us to be a part of your day. We appreciate everything you do for the children and families in our community, and we look forward to visiting again!

I have been working very hard to get the Special Operation division stronger and with that I would like to introduce our two newest members, on the left is Mark Lancaster, right is Jacob Benton. Both these guys are very well versed in drone operations, they have several years of experience in deer recovery, they bring with them 2 drones each with thermal capacities. Mark also has a BSAR certification. These guys will be very helpful with SAR and structure fires when needed, Please welcome these guys to the team. Will have more announcements very soon. On Thursday, July 23, at approximately 10:37 a.m., the Boyle County Fire Department was dispatched by the Danville 911 Center to a reported fully involved structure fire in the Perryville area off U.S. Highway 68.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a structure fully involved in fire. All occupants had safely evacuated prior to the arrival of emergency crews.

Firefighters quickly initiated an aggressive fire attack and were able to bring the blaze under control, preventing further extension. Crews remained on scene for several hours conducting overhaul operations, extinguishing remaining hot spots, and ensuring the scene was safe before clearing.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Boyle County Fire Department would like to thank our partner agencies for their assistance, including the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office, Boyle County EMS, Boyle County Emergency Management, and the Perryville City Fire Department.

All responding units have now cleared the scene.
