Dear Friends,

Due to extreme cold temperatures and snowy conditions, worship services, Sunday school, and youth group are cancelled for tomorrow, January 25, 2026. The safety of our congregation, staff, and constituent are my top priority. Please stay home during this winter weather for your safety and well-being, and to support our emergency responders in their essential work. I invite you to hold in your prayers all the emergency responders, health-care workers, essential workers. and road crews as they work hard to keep people in our community safe and well. I ask that you join me in praying for everyone struggling to find a safe and warm place to be during this winter weather and severe wind chill temperatures. This has been a different winter that we have had in several years. Please stay safe, stay warm, and take care of yourselves and one another. We look forward to being together again soon. I pray for each and everyone of you daily. If you need anything at all do not hesitate to reach me on my cell phone listed in your weekly email blast and weekly worship bulletins.

Please pass this email along to your ministry teams, committees, small groups, and Sunday school classes at Saint James United Methodist Church.

Grace and Peace,
Pastor Don

Oh, snap! Vermilion County, you tore down the walls last night, and we built a loooooonnnnngggg table! 💛

We are full of emotions, but above all gratitude and joy, as we proudly announce that we collected $5,715 for the St. James Food Pantry!!!

We served up 1,115 scoops! An additional $650 in "keep the change" donations was also received... which The Cup is matching.

We also received two surprise major gifts of LOVE. The soon-to-open Danville Food Market (929 E Main St) stopped by to add $1,000 to the collection. And the night ended with another local business (who wishes to remain anonymous) bringing us a $2,300 donation.

On behalf our our Team and the St. James Food Pantry, thank you for stepping for our community! This was truly "the cherry on top" to a great 2025 season! 💛

🖤💛NO TRICKS... ONLY TREATS!!! 💛🖤

While our season may have officially ended on Sunday, we are opening our windows one more time to say THANK YOU! Thank you not only for continuing to supporting us, but for also joining us in supporting our community. You, our customers, donated nearly $10,000 in Scoops of Love over the past 8 months.

On Friday, we will open from 3-8p to serve up scoops for just $1. Every dollar that comes through our windows will be going directly to the St. James Food Pantry! They already serve over 400 of our neighbors each month, and with the SNAP cutoff taking effect on 11/1, we know that even more will be needing help as we head into the holiday season. We feel compelled to step up and hope you will join us to spread some more LOVE! 💛
