📚✨ A BOOK FOR EVERY CHILD! ✨📚

What an exciting day for Hustonville Elementary!The Garrard/Lincoln Early Childhood Coalition, Stanford Rotary, and Heart of Kentucky United Way have come together to bring a book vending machine to Hustonville Elementary! 🎉

With this addition, every elementary school in Lincoln County now has a book vending machine! ❤️📖

But the best part? The books aren’t for sale—they’re earned! Students receive tokens for their birthdays and as rewards for positive behavior and accomplishments, allowing them to choose a book of their very own to take home.

And HKUW is committed to keeping these machines stocked with books for as long as the schools have them! 🙌

Our goal is simple: Every child will go home with at least one book of their very own every year. Because when you give a child a book, you’re giving them so much more—a chance to imagine, explore, learn, and fall in love with reading. 📚💙

We are so grateful to every partner who helped make this possible. Together, we’re putting books into the hands of children and building brighter futures, one book at a time! 🌟

A special thank you to Daycrest Farmfor generously donating beautiful, locally grown flowers for tomorrow’s Laugh United event. Your generosity is helping us create a warm and welcoming experience for our guests.

We also want to recognize our incredible volunteers who spent their time hand-selecting blooms, cutting each stem, stripping the leaves, and preparing the flowers for tomorrow’s event. Your hard work, dedication, and servant hearts have helped bring this vision to life.

Back in June, HKUW was honored to represent Stanford Rotary in serving those who have served us. ❤️ 💙🇺🇸Thank you to our veterans for your sacrifice, service, and dedication. It was a privilege to share a meal and our gratitude with you.

Make an impact in our community!

In the past week, Brice Gibson with The Bridge Recovery Community Center and Sgt. Aaron Rainwater with the Danville Police Department have been able to place two families in housing. That’s 4 of our community members that are no longer unhoused!

Overall there have been approximately 20 families that the Boyle County Homeless Coalition and our community partners have been able to successfully find housing for and helped to move into their new homes.

None of this would have been possible if it was not for the amazing and tireless work of volunteers who have worked to help these families obtain IDs, stable and reliable income, and furnishings for their homes. None of this would have been possible without donations and the support of this community.

Thanks to all of your support, especially Brice, Sgt. Rainwater, The Bridge, and Danville Police Department!

Heart of Kentucky United Way was proud to be part of Friends with Disabilities & Senior Day at the Lincoln County Fair! 💙

We enjoyed connecting with so many wonderful community members and sharing sensory and fidget items to support individuals of all ages. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit with us and to the organizers for creating such a welcoming and inclusive event.
