Our two recruits are currently on week two at the Department of Criminal Justice Training Center.

Help us wish our recruits and their classmates good luck!

Last week, a new chapter began for Kentucky’s next generation of peace officers.

We are proud to welcome Law Enforcement Basic Training Class 572 to campus as they begin the journey toward becoming certified peace officers in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

They arrived with different backgrounds, experiences and stories, but with one shared purpose: to serve their communities with professionalism and integrity.

Over the coming weeks, these recruits will be challenged academically, physically and mentally as they develop the skills, discipline and accountability required of the profession.
Because professional law enforcement doesn’t happen by chance.
It’s built day by day, inside the academy.

🚨SCAM ALERT 🚨

🚨 Scam Alert – Please Read and Share 🚨

I want to make everyone aware of a concerning phone scam that was reported early this morning, around 12:45 AM.

The caller claimed to be a staff member at the Boyle County Detention Center, stating that, due to overcrowding, they were trying to release an individual into someone’s custody. In this case, the person who received the call knew that the individual had already been released days earlier, which immediately raised red flags.

When questioned, the caller said the person’s contact information was listed in the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) and even offered to “remove” it — something that is not possible for anyone to do over the phone.

This appears to be an impersonation attempt or scam designed to trick people into giving out personal information or potentially money.

✅ Please remember:
• Jail staff will never call citizens in the middle of the night asking to take custody of an inmate.
• They will never ask for payment, personal details, or NCIC changes over the phone.
• If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and contact the jail or law enforcement agency directly.

Stay alert, and please share this post so others in our community can avoid falling victim to this scam.

Boyle County Jailer, Brian Wofford
