‼️Attention Hendricks County‼️

We are so excited to announce the first ever microchip station in Hendricks County! Proudly brought to you by the Hendricks County Animal Shelter and The Hendricks County Friends of the Shelter.

The microchip station is located outside of the Hendricks County Animal Shelter and is available for anyone to use in the event that they find an animal. The scanner is located inside the box and is attached to a retractable cord that makes it easy to remove from the box and scan the animal. Further instructions are located on the sign that is also located outside of the building.

Public scanning stations are critical because an estimated 10 million pets go missing in the U.S. every year. If a good Samaritan uses a box to scan a pet, the chances of a successful reunion without a pet entering a shelter skyrocket. Since 18% of pets entering shelters are already microchipped, these boxes have already helped avoid thousands of shelter intakes.

We ask that you please be respectful when using the equipment and always remember that abandoning an animal is a crime. This microchip station is under 24-hour camera surveillance. 🐾

Springsteen is an approximately 3-year-old neutered male that has probably lived outside his entire life. He does enjoy attention in small amounts but also likes his space. He doesn't seem to mind other cats. Springsteen would probably do best in a barn home. He has been vaccinated, micro chipped and tested negative for FIV/FELV. His adoption fee is $10 to cover his microchip registration fee.

If these are your dogs please contact the shelter to either surrender them so they can be adopted or make arrangements for them to be reclaimed.
