🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY 🚧

Beginning Monday, June 15, construction on the Diablo Road Multi-Use Trail Project will enter a new phase, with wall construction near the creek between Fairway Drive and Alameda Diablo.

Motorists should expect weekday one-way traffic control on Diablo Road between Clydesdale Drive and Alameda Diablo from 7 a.m. to as late as 6 p.m. Flaggers, signage, and advance notification boards will be in place.

Additional traffic signal upgrade work is also continuing on Diablo Road as part of Contra Costa County’s Smart Signals Project. Construction is planned Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please plan for short delays, use caution in the work zone, and consider alternate routes when possible.

The Summer 2026 Music in the Park series kicks off tonight at 6 p.m. on the Town Green in Downtown Danville.

The fun continues this weekend with three great events in Downtown Danville.

On Saturday, June 13, head to the Town Green and Danville Community Center for VERVE: Passport to Wellness, a free health and wellness fair from 3 to 6 p.m. Explore health screenings, fitness demos, mindfulness activities, and more.

After VERVE, stick around for the opening performance of Music in the Park at 6 p.m. on the Town Green. Enjoy an evening of country favorites with The Bell Brothers, performing the hits you know and love.

Then on Sunday, June 14, A Brighter Day Car Show & Shine rolls into Downtown Danville from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free event will feature classics, exotics, customs, cruisers, and more, plus exclusive specials from downtown businesses throughout the day.

🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY 🚧

Several streets in Downtown Danville will be closed on Sunday, June 14, for A Brighter Day Car Show & Shine. Street closures will begin at 6 a.m., and the event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The following closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

▪️Hartz Avenue between Diablo Road and School Street
▪️Prospect Avenue between the Clock Tower Municipal Parking Lot entrance and Front Street
▪️Short Street to through traffic
▪️Church Street east between Hartz Avenue and the Village Theatre Municipal Parking Lot

The Village Theatre Municipal Lot will be closed from 6 to 9 a.m. for vehicle staging and will reopen for spectator access afterward.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the Downtown Danville area due to heavier than usual pedestrian traffic and consider alternate routes.

Two events in Downtown Danville on Saturday, June 13 will result in the closure of Front Street from 1 to 10 p.m. between the Village Theatre Municipal Parking Lot and the Library/Community Center Parking Lot.

The closure will be in place for Verve: Passport to Wellness and Music in the Park.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the area and consider alternate routes, including Railroad Avenue. Parking is available on surrounding public streets and in all downtown Municipal Parking Lots.

Mayor Newell Arnerich stopped by to officially welcome the women behind The Social House, a unique space bringing together five local business owners under one roof.

Created as a welcoming place where women can gather, learn new skills, and build meaningful connections, The Social House offers activities, workshops, and opportunities to meet new people in a supportive environment. The group is also committed to community engagement, hosting local business guest speakers and wellness-focused events.

Each business brings its own specialty to the collective:

🕯️ Lorena of Fiamma Candles handcrafts both her candles and their reusable vessels using clean ingredients. What began as a therapeutic hobby grew into a thriving business.

✨ Anastasia of Lucky Goldie creates custom jewelry, allowing customers to personalize charms, chains, necklaces, and bracelets. She grew her brand through pop-ups in Danville before deciding on this permanent space.

🧵 Simran of Maker’s Weave showcases the textiles and artistry of India through curated wool, silk, and cotton pieces.

💌 Denise of Living Love Letter focuses on wellness through ear seeding and acupressure treatments.

🧘 Keri of Pilates Theory brings her passion for wellness to the collective and plans to expand the space's offerings through workshops and community events.
