Bresee Tower is located at the northwest corner of the town square at the intersection of Main and North Vermilion streets overlooking the Big Vermilion River. Originally built as the First National Bank in 1918, Bresee Tower is the 12-story unique structure that defines Danville, IL. The building stands on the site of the Lincoln & Lamon Law Offices where Abraham Lincoln practiced law in Danville

while traveling on the Eighth Judicial Circuit. Mundie and Jensen were the architects of this classic revival-style building. World War I steel shortages forced the change from a steel skeletal structure to reinforced concrete. White terre cotta ornamentation is used throughout. Each floor is 25' by 103', and two passenger elevators serve all floors. The building is located in a TIF district and in an Enterprise Zone and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000 and qualifies for historic tax credits. The building is strategically positioned in the heart of Danville's growing downtown district of unique shops, food/liquor establishments, professional services and art and historical attractions. Effective Ocotber 4, 2017, the Bresee Tower is owned by Historic Restorations Inc., A 501c3 Non Profit Corporation, 119 Columbus Street East, Fayette, AL 35555. Executive Director is Scottie Porter.
