K9 Crue helps locate autistic juvenile during mental health crisis:

On 05/14/2026 at approximately 1750 hours, K9 Crue and Officer Capsalis responded to assist Sergeant Kerkman and Officer Kehoe of the Chester Police Department in locating a runaway autistic juvenile following a mental health crisis. After gathering all available information, K9 Crue and Officer Capsalis initiated a track from the area where the juvenile was last seen.

In the heavy rain, K9 Crue quickly established a strong scent trail and began leading officers through heavily wooded and swampy terrain behind the residence. Officer Dunn of the Danville Police Department and Officer Kehoe of the Chester Police Department accompanied the team during the deployment.

K9 Crue tracked approximately 2.2 miles through difficult terrain before emerging near the intersection of Wason Road and Towle Road. The track then continued behind a residence on Wason Road, where the homeowner informed officers that they had observed a juvenile run behind the property and further into the wooded area.

K9 Crue continued tracking a short distance farther when dispatch advised officers that a cellphone ping from the juvenile had been received in the immediate area of K9 Crue’s location. Officer Capsalis downed K9 Crue and sent perimeter units to check the surrounding area.

K9 Crue’s good pals, K9 Dundee and Deputy Callahan of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department, drove through a nearby side street and spotted the juvenile on Arabian Way. Deputy Callahan safely rescued the juvenile and reunited him with his family.

This incident was another outstanding display of teamwork and coordination between agencies. We would like to thank the Chester Police Department, Sandown Police Department, Fremont Police Department, and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance during this critical incident.

We also commend the officers involved for both their quick thinking and physical endurance throughout the lengthy track. K9 Crue only has one speed — fast — and the officers alongside him never fell behind.

After returning home from shift, K9 Crue was rewarded with a well-earned hamburger.

K9 Crue leads Officers to Drug Trafficking Arrest:

On 04/26/2026 at approximately 1830 hours, Officer Capsalis and K9 Crue were patrolling Main Street in Danville New Hampshire. During this time, they noticed a black Kia Forte with a low hanging front bumper and a missing front license plate. Due to the Kia not having a front license plate the duo initiated a motor vehicle stop on Main Street. While initiating the stop Officer Capsalis observed the operator throw something in his back seat.

Officer Capsalis approached the vehicle and began to notice significant signs of drug trafficking. All of these signs gave Officer Capsalis reasonable suspicion that there were narcotics present in the Kia. After having the operator and his passenger step out of the vehicle, K9 Crue was deployed for an exterior narcotics sweep of the vehicle. K9 Crue showed solid changes of behavior during this exterior sweep which gave Officer Capsalis probable cause that narcotics were present in the vehicle. Officer Capsalis seized the Kia and applied for a search warrant.

On 04/28/2026 at approximately 1600 hours a granted search warrant was executed on the Kia Forte. Danville Lieutenant Merced and Officers Wilson, St. Hilaire, and Dunn all assisted Officer Capsalis and K9 Crue with the ex*****on of this warrant. During the search Officers found a substantial amount of narcotics believed to be; He**in, Fentanyl, Crack Co***ne, and liquid Methamphetamine. Officers also found a substantial amount of drug paraphernalia in the car.

The operator is being charged with:
Possession of drugs in a motor vehicle
Possession of Narcotics x3
Possession of narcotics with the intent to sell
Unregistered vehicle
Failure to display license plates

The Danville Police Department would like to thank Lieutenant Garvin of the Kingston Police Department, Officer Paul of the Sandown Police Department, Officer Phair of the Hampstead Police Department, and Dispatcher Schwartz from the Rockingham County Sheriffs Office for their assistance on this traffic stop. A great display of teamwork by all involved.

All parties are innocent until proven guilty.
