Great work guys, power has been restored.

Crews are working an outage in Garrard County, that is affecting 174 members. We have a broken three phase pole due to a vehicle accident. Please know that we are working as efficiently and safely as possible to restore power in a timely manner. No estimated restoration at this time.

In May, we recognize National Electrical Safety Month to raise awareness about reducing electrically related fires, injuries and fatalities. Here are a few important safety tips to keep in mind:

· Never use electrical equipment near water.

· Check all light bulbs to ensure the wattage is safe and suitable for the fixture.

· Extension cords are for temporary use only; never run them under rugs, through walls or across doorways.

· Do not plug too many devices into a single outlet or power strip.

On the only rainy day this week, over thirty-five employees from different cooperatives showed up to help the Ronald McDonald House get ready for spring. That's a commitment of teamwork and a time to smile. Fun was had by all even though some got wet! It is true, it's better to serve others than to be served. Enjoy the weekend!

Osmose Utility Services to conduct a system-wide assessment

Beginning May 4, 2026, Inter-County Energy has contracted with Osmose Utility Services to conduct a system-wide pole attachment assessment. This assessment will last throughout the remainder of the year. Osmose employees will be properly identified. Vehicles will be marked indicating they are contractors for the cooperative. We will have crews performing inspections throughout our service territory.

Inter-County Energy is a not-for-profit, locally owned, member-driven cooperative providing electricity to over 28,000 members across all or most of Marion, Lincoln, Casey, Mercer, Boyle and Garrard counties and parts of seven additional since 1937. Daily, the cooperative’s mission is accomplished by providing energy and services to our members through a culture of safety, accountability, integrity, innovation and commitment to community.
