🇺🇸 Memorial Day 2026 🇺🇸

Today, residents, veterans, community organizations, and local leaders gathered for the Danville Memorial Day Parade and memorial services to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Montour County extends its gratitude to all who participated in today’s events and to those who continue to preserve the spirit of remembrance and patriotism within our community.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of our fallen heroes. May we always honor their legacy and never forget the freedoms secured through their service.

The veterans service organizations in our community, in conjunction with the Montour County Department of Veterans’ Affairs, are currently fundraising for a memorial of Operation Desert Storm, Afghanistan, and Iraq veterans from Montour County and Danville School District. If there is an interest in donating, please reach out to one of these organizations.

🗓 Schedule Highlights:
• May 19 & 20 (6:00 PM): Community flag placement at local cemeteries
• May 25 (Memorial Day):
▫ Ceremony at the Danville/Riverside bridge (9:45–10:00 AM)
▫ Parade through downtown Danville
▫ Memorial Program at Memorial Park (11:00 AM)

📍 Volunteers are welcome to help place flags at veteran headstones—meet at Odd Fellows, Mt. Vernon, or Riverside Cemeteries.

Let’s stand together as a community to honor our heroes. ❤️🤍💙
