Heartbreaking tragedy: 1-year-old Kohen Kartier Wiley is dead after being caught in the crossfire during a Walmart shoplifting incident in Senatobia, Mississippi. No child should lose their life like this. My deepest condolences to the family for their loss.
But let’s speak the hard truth: Merle Rutledge stands with our police officers. The officers responded to a shoplifting call. The driver allegedly accelerated toward them, creating a deadly threat in a split-second situation. Police don’t have the luxury of hindsight — they protect the public every day.
This starts with the mother’s poor decisions. Bringing a baby into a alleged theft situation, holding the child in the front seat instead of secured properly, and then fleeing instead of cooperating? Those reckless choices put an innocent baby directly in harm’s way. You don’t drag a child into crime and chaos and then act shocked when tragedy strikes.
Where is Mark Warner? Where is Abigail Spanberger? Where is the weak GOP primary field?
Silent — as usual. Too busy pushing anti-gun, soft-on-crime policies that empower chaos while undermining law enforcement. Their weak fundraising and staged “introductions” with paid clappers show they have no real fight for Virginia families or for backing the blue.
I will never stay silent. I back our police 100%. Demand full investigation and transparency, but reject the anti-cop mob that rushes to blame officers while excusing bad parenting and criminal behavior. We need strong law and order, secure borders, and personal responsibility — not more excuses. This is leadership.
