It's hard to believe June is upon us! Here are our last breakfast and lunch menus of the year!

Please keep in mind, a lot of schools have special field days, classroom celebrations, and BBQs during the last weeks of school. These menus do not reflect those special days.

On the last day of school, we will be offering bagged lunches for students. Elementary and middle school student lunches must be pre-ordered. We will share that link and more details in June, and it will also be on our website!

As always, nutrition information can be found on our website https://www.schoolnutritionandfitness.com/index.php?sid=1210112058116103&page=menus

~Where We're From Wednesday AND Fun Fruit Wednesday ~
We highlighted Haiti this month as our heritage and culture of the month!

Haitian culture and food are a blend of African, Taino, French, and Spanish influences, characterized by flavorful and bold dishes. Popular dishes include griot (fried pork), diri ak djon djon (rice with black mushroom sauce, Haitian spaghetti, and plantains.

At the elementary schools, we offered Plantain Chips for students to try! Plantains are similar to bananas, but must be cooked before eating.

At HRMS and DHS, we offered Haitian Spaghetti, a hearty, spicy pasta dish made with Linguica sausage. Students were also offered a side of plantain chips.

We love offering new and diverse food choices and seeing kids embrace them! Should we add these items into our menus regularly?! Let us know in the comments!
