The Poca Volunteer Fire Department, along with other County agencies, have spent today and will continue tomorrow preparing for tropical storm Helene.
Here are some storm preparation tips:
1)Stock up on essentials such as food, water, medications, and batteries.
2)Secure outdoor objects that could become projectiles in high winds.
3)Ensure that emergency supplies, like flashlights and first aid kits, are easily accessible.
4)Make a family emergency plan and ensure everyone knows what to do in case of a storm.
5)Stay informed by monitoring weather updates and alerts from local authorities.
Stay safe and be prepared for any disruptions caused by the storm. During times of high call volume there can be delays in response. Make sure your address markers can be easily identified.
All of our response apparatus are ready to respond in the event of an emergency. We recommend following the pages of the US National Weather Service Peachtree City Georgia, Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency, Georgia DOT - Northeast, and all our local response agencies for updates.
