Coming up at 7:15 AM ET on our Meet the Civil Air Patrol segment, we talk to Col. Jane Davies the Civil Air Patrol's National Capital Wing director of operations. She was the National Capital Wing commander from 2004 to 2009 and has served in various positions and wings throughout her membership in CAP. Davies joined CAP in 1969 as a cadet in the Connecticut Wing, Civil Air Patrol. Then at 8:15 ET, we catch up with Toni Hedstrom from FireWatch Magazine. At 8:40, Michael chats with Nancy Fassbender from Mesa, Arizona. Nancy is a Location Coordinator and will be in Washington D.C. to lay a wreath at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Friday. And at 9:15, we hear from Army CW5 (Ret.) Phyllis Wilson, President of the Military Women's Memorial.

We have a couple of fundraisers starting this fall. First we are selling wreaths for Wreaths Across America - this is to lay wreaths on the graves of veterans in the cemeteries in Danielson. We get a few dollars per sale and we then go and help to lay them on the graves with the Quiet Corner Veterans Coalition in December. The link is

A collective gasp was let out as our recovery specialists lifted the lid from the OSIRIS-REx asteroid sample return canister, revealing a dark powder and small particles inside.

The first-of-its-kind Touch and Go Sample Acquisition Mechanism (TAGSAM), designed by us, will be separated from the canister and inserted into a sealed transfer container to preserve in nitrogen ahead of NASA's global reveal slated for October 11.
