⚠️ WEATHER UPDATE: The Flash Flood Warning for Fairfield County has been extended until 1:00 PM today.

Periods of heavy rainfall continue throughout the region, with the potential for flooding on roadways, near streams and in low-lying areas. Residents are urged to remain alert, and never attempt to drive through standing water.

City officials and public safety personnel continue monitoring conditions. Call 9-1-1 for emergencies.

It was a beautiful day at Candlewood Lake Park for theyoungwomensinitiative Picnic & Panel, an afternoon filled with inspiring conversations, meaningful connections, and a celebration of women in our community.

The event featured speakers Iandra Lopes, Lindy Lee Gold, and our very own Chief of Staff, Taylor Jean O'Brien, all sharing their experiences and perspectives.

Taylor has served the City of Danbury for nearly a decade and made history under the Mayor Roberto Alves administration as the first woman appointed Chief of Staff in our city’s history.

Thank you to Giovanna Mastelari, founder of The Young Women’s Initiative; the Danbury Recreation Department; the participating vendors and sponsors; and everyone who helped make this special event possible!
