The West Point Band will present a performance of masterworks for concert band on Wednesday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the Veronica Hagman Concert Hall on the campus of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut. The concert will feature wind ensemble favorites performed by the world-class musicians of the West Point Band. As always, this performance is free and open to all.
Experience the power and artistry of the wind ensemble with a performance by the West Point Band, featuring repertoire that showcases the unique colors, resonance, and creative possibilities of the concert band. The band will perform music that spans the length of its over 200-year history with works by Felix Mendelssohn, Percy Grainger, Maurice Ravel, and more. The concert will also include a premiere of James Beckel‘s tuba concerto, “Through a Window,” with West Point Band principal tuba Sgt. 1st Class Keith Kile as soloist.
Established in 1817, the West Point Band is the Army’s oldest band. The band’s mission is to provide world-class music to build, educate, train, and inspire the U.S. Corps of Cadets, and to serve as ambassadors of West Point and the Army to audiences world-wide.
