All Pacifica Residents need to attend the Daly City Council Meeting tomorrow.
Date: 5/17/16
Time: 5:30pm
Place: Daly City Council Chambers, 333 90th St.
Daly City, CA.
The Daly City leaders are on the verge of cutting back the fire protection in Daly City which directly affects YOU! They are planning on cutting one of only five fire engines in Daly City. The ONE and ONLY ladder truck that serves ALL of Daly City AND Pacifica AND Brisbane will then pick up the slack by running all the calls that the closed fire engine once handled. That means the ONE ladder truck that provides YOU with the specialized firefighting and rescue capabilities that only a ladder truck can provide, will be UNABLE to respond to YOUR emergency MUCH more frequently, because it will be committed on all those calls that were once handled by the closed fire engine.
Additionally, following a 20% cut of Daly City's fire engines, one of YOUR Pacifica fire engines (and there are only TWO in ALL of Pacifica) will have to leave Pacifica much more frequently. In 2015, on more than a couple HUNDRED occasions (exact number coming soon), a Pacifica fire engine had to leave Pacifica and go into Daly City on a emergency call or to cover an area that was uncovered because the Daly City rigs were out on calls. If they permanently shut down a Daly City fire engine, a Pacifica fire engine WILL have to move into Daly City ALOT more.
Go to the meeting tomorrow night and let them know that you won't let them compromise your safety by further stretching your already strained fire protection.
