Juslyn Manalo for Supervisor

Juslyn Manalo for Supervisor Mom | Daly City Councilmember | 3x Mayor
Running for San Mateo County Supervisor
Working to keep our county a place families can afford to call home

Juslyn Cabrera Manalo was born in San Francisco and raised in Daly City. Her drive and passion for community work began in her collegiate years. Juslyn’s inherent desire to help people was realized serving the Filipino World War II Veterans as a Community Service worker at the age of 21 with the Veterans Equity Center. She received one of the highest awards in Community Service from the Chancellor of California State University in 2001. Alongside the National Network for Veterans Equity NNVE, she and her colleagues created Student Action for Veterans Equity (SAVE) and worked on the national campaign to fight for equity for the Filipino Veteranos. In 2009, Juslyn and a group of volunteers created the Bill Sorro Housing Program (BiSHoP), to address the housing related issues for low to moderate income families and individuals. Juslyn managed the program for four years and assisted in building the program’s capacity. To date, BiSHoP has served over 1500 clients and continues to be a resource for the Filipino Community. Currently, Juslyn is the Community Engagement Manager for the 5M Project with Brookfield Properties. She is determined to ensure responsible community development happens within the neighborhood her mother immigrated to when moving to the United States. She is committed to advocating for affordable housing policy, building local economic opportunities for residents and continued investment in youth development and seniors. In 2014, Juslyn graduated from San Francisco State University with a graduate degree in Public Administration in the School of Public Affairs and Civic Engagement and serves on the Personnel Board of Daly City. Her vision is to use what she learned on the ground in her nonprofit background, graduate degree in Public Administration and community development experience on the Daly City Council. Juslyn made history when she was elected in 2016 as the First Filipino-American/ Asian American woman on City Council. She was became Vice Mayor in 2017 and in 2018 led Daly City as the first Asian American woman in this role. In 2021, she had her second term as Mayor.

Together with Community, Together We Can
I have always pushed for Parks for our community. From the huge renovations at Gellert Park when I was Mayor in 2021 to a New Magical Bridge all inclusive park at Hillside which I led the advocacy for in 2024 which just broke ground this year. And now preserving & protecting Westlake Park Greenspace!

Happy Labor Day!

Today, I’m thinking about the people who make our communities work every day. The teachers who show up for our kids, the healthcare workers who care for our families, the construction workers who build our neighborhoods, and the public and service workers who keep our cities moving.

I’m grateful for the workers and organizers who have spent generations standing up for fair wages, fair working conditions, and a better future for working people everywhere.

Today, we celebrate them and the work they do every day to make our communities stronger!!

I’m honored to have the endorsement of Assemblymember Catherine Stefani, who represents communities across northern San Mateo County.

Throughout her career, Catherine has been a fearless advocate for gun violence prevention, survivors of domestic violence, government accountability, and safer, stronger communities.
