Wow! What an incredibly special week we have had! Our Police officers and firefighters felt like total super stars at Key Elementary School during their end of year awards party where we enjoyed pizza, popcorn, and cookies with the award winners. The kids decided our first responders needed to sign their water bottles for keepsakes πŸ₯°πŸ₯°. While just down the street Arlington Classics Academy honored Pso. Ryan Miller as he nears retirement after 38 years of service to our great community with both campuses joing in on a clap out ceremony. Our jobs are not always glamorous, however these are the reasons we all continue to do it!

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Captain Bob Fisher #308’s passing on March 31, 2026. Captain Fisher devoted more than 26 years of service to DWG, and throughout that time he stood as a steady mentor, a trusted leader, and a source of strength for so many. His impact on this department and on the people who served beside him will not be forgotten.

Captain Fisher’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he shaped and the example he set for all of us.

We urge caution despite sunny conditions, as melting ice will refreeze tonight, creating hazardous surfaces. The top layer of ice has begun to melt and will become extremely slippery upon refreezing. Please refrain from using sidewalks and porches until they are completely dry. Be cautious of falling ice from roofs and other structures as the ice melts. While some sections of heavily traveled roads have thawed, many areas remain icy. Conditions will deteriorate after sunset, making travel extremely hazardous overnight and early morning. Driving conditions should improve with rising temperatures tomorrow, but caution is still advised.
