Our 8th-grade students recently enjoyed an educational field trip to Etowah Indian Mounds, where they explored the history and culture of the Mississippian people. Before the trip, students learned about the Mississippians in social studies class, including their daily lives, traditions, communities, and the significance of the mounds they built. During the visit, students had the opportunity to connect their classroom learning to real historical sites and gain a deeper understanding of the Mississippian civilization. This hands-on learning experience brought history to life and allowed students to explore and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the people who once lived in the region.
