Roadrunner Athletics is setting the tone early after an impressive month of wins! 👏
⚽ Women's Soccer remains undefeated and returns home Sept. 4 at 7 p.m.
⚽ Men's Soccer has won three straight matches and continues to build momentum. Catch them at the next home match on Sept. 11 at 5 p.m.
⛳ Women's Golf opened the season by claiming the 2026 Eagle's Open Championship.
👟👟 Good luck to our Cross Country team at their first meet tomorrow!
⛳ Men's Golf will tee up for their first tournament on September 14.
🏀Men's basketball is more than a month away, but we'll see you all in Bandy Gym soon enough!

What a great day for Northwest Georgia!

We joined Governor Brian Kemp, AdventHealth Murray, the Murray County Chamber of Commerce, and community partners to celebrate the groundbreaking of AdventHealth Murray's new community hospital.

This phenomenal investment will strengthen healthcare access and economic growth across Northwest Georgia. We're especially excited about the opportunities this project will create for Dalton State nursing and healthcare students, providing expanded career pathways close to home. We're preparing to meet the region's growing workforce needs by increasing capacity in our nursing program and strengthening partnerships with healthcare providers across the region.

Leadership will announce the naming of the Health Professions building as Ken White Health Professions Hall.

Culture and Arts
🎹 September 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Duo Arpeggione will perform in the Goordroe Auditorium. Cellist Claudio Jaffe and pianist Catherine bring decades of international performance experience.

📖 September 30 at 12:30 p.m.
Barbara Tucker will discuss her newest novel, “Foark River Salon & Bait Shop” in Roberts Library, room 112.

Athletics
Men's and Women's soccer have two weekends to catch a douleheader matchup at the Dalton Stadium this month. Admission is FREE!

Community Cultural Celebration on October 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the Dalton State intramural field. The event will feature a DJ, cultural performances, guided group dance sessions, and more! Food trucks will be on site for food purchases.

Remember that First Chime feeling? 💙🔔

On August 9, Dalton State welcomed 1,379 new Roadrunners during our third annual First Chime, the college's official freshman convocation.

The incoming freshman class gathered on the quad to celebrate the start of their college journey with music, traditions, fireworks and the ceremonial first ringing of the bell tower.

Dalton State College has selected two accomplished educators to serve in endowed chair positions that will advance innovation in STEM and help prepare the next generation of teachers through classical education. Asaf Varol (pictured left) has been named the Shaw Industries Chair in STEM, and Cristian R. Aquino-Sterling has been selected as the inaugural Keith & Lynn Whitworth Distinguished Chair in Classical Education.
