The department would like to make everyone aware of a scam that has been frequent in Berkshire county:

Scam artist will call and identify himself as Sergeant Joseph Walker or Captain Burns. The phone number will have a 413 area code, and some will use our Dalton Police Departments number. The department does not have anyone by those names that work here. They will tell you that you missed a court date and there is a warrant for your arrest. They will tell you there’s a monetary bond amount that needs to be paid. They use scare tactics and tell you not to contact anyone. They are good at what they do. They will scare and confuse you into giving them money or personal information.

Advice: Don’t answer calls from phone numbers you don’t recognize. Don’t open emails from people you don’t recognize. If you ever feel like something seems off about a phone call, email, or letters in the mail you may receive, please call the department and speak with an officer. Please share this information with everyone you know, especially our population who may not be on Facebook.

This guy was found having an adventure on Housatonic St in Dalton. He is currently hanging out with some new friends at Wahconah Vet in Hinsdale.
