⚠️Due to the broader water restrictions currently impacting many of our residents and businesses, the opening of the splash pad will be delayed until further notice.

💧We will continue monitoring drought conditions and will follow the protocols being implemented by surrounding communities as we evaluate next steps.

💦We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience as we work to be mindful of our community’s current water conservation efforts. Updates will be shared as conditions improve.

🏖️ Heads up, South Point Access park visitors! Our summer entry fees officially begin this Friday and will run through Labor Day. Entry Fees are $7 per car or $20 per bus. This excludes the boat launch area.

⚠️ Swim Bank Status & Low Water Levels: Water levels at the swim bank are currently very low, and swimming is not suggested at this time.

The rest of the park remains open for picnics and walking, but we want to make sure you have all the facts about the water conditions before you pay the entry fee at the gate.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate these low water levels!

☀💦The Dallas Park splash pad will open this Friday, May 22 at 10am for the 2026 season! The splash pad is open daily through Labor Day, from 10am until 7pm.

💧We want to reassure our community that we are staying dedicated to water conservation during this dry spell. Our splash pad runs on a recycled water system, which allows us to keep the fun flowing responsibly! Because of this eco-friendly system, the splash pad will remain open and ready for play unless our local drought conditions reach a Stage 3.💧

Pack the sunscreen, grab the towels, and come cool off with us!

Fencing at Poston Park Soccer Fields 1, 2 & 3

Since its opening, the soccer complex at George Poston Park has been designated as games only and scheduled by reservation to preserve field quality and ensure a safe, consistent playing surface. Due to ongoing policy violations and repeated instances of vandalism, we have made the decision to install protective fencing around Fields 1, 2, and 3.

To accommodate the fencing, the walking track around the soccer complex has been shortened. In its place, we have already added approximately 1.5 miles of Carolina Thread Trail within the River Loop and along Mountainside Lane. An additional 3 miles of trail are planned, which will further expand connectivity within the park and link to Spencer Mountain.

Gaston County continues to offer reservable soccer fields and first come first serve play at several locations, including Dallas Park (1 field), North Belmont Park (2), H.H. Beam Elementary (1), Robinson Elementary (1), W.A. Bess Elementary (1), Pearl Henderson Park (2), and Tryon Park (1). To reserve a field, please contact the Parks & Recreation office at 704-922-2160.

Thank you for your continued support of Gaston County Parks. We remain committed to providing safe, accessible, and well-maintained recreational facilities for the community.
