The score may say he lost his fantasy football league, but we'd call this a huge win. 🏈

Last month, Trevor Reed, a member of the Rockwall Gridiron Gang fantasy football league, raised more than $1,200 for the CACRC through their annual "Waffle House" Challenge. With the support of his fellow league members, he not only raised financial support for our mission, he raised awareness about the critical work being done at the CAC 💙

One conversation can make a difference. 💙

September is Su***de Prevention Month. Su***de is a heartbreaking reality for too many young people, especially teens. While girls ages 15 to 19 are approximately 2.5 times more likely than boys to attempt su***de resulting in an emergency department visit, teen boys in the same age group are approximately 2.5 times more likely to die by su***de (CDC, 2026).

Teens face many pressures both in person and online. Risks like grooming, cyberbullying, online exploitation, and manipulation through private images can impact their mental health and well-being. Regular conversations about online safety help build trust, strengthen connections, and remind young people they have a safe adult to turn to when something doesn't feel right.

When a child shares something difficult, it often doesn't happen all at once. They may offer hints, share information in pieces, or need reassurance before opening up.

The most important thing you can do is listen, stay calm, take their concerns seriously and report it. You do not have to be certain that abuse or neglect has occurred, your suspicion is enough. Always report suspected child abuse to 800-252-5400.

Reporting is the first step in the healing process for a child who has experienced abuse 💙
