Just a heads up, your DF&EMS firefighters will be back training at West Valley Hospital this morning from 10am-noon. Today is the final day for us to utilize this valuable resource for training so we’re taking advantage of it while we can.

Dallas Fire & EMS would like to give a big thank you to Salem Health West Valley Hospital for allowing our firefighters to utilize one of their buildings for training as the hospital prepares for upcoming remodeling.

This opportunity will allow our career and volunteer firefighters to conduct realistic, hands-on training in an actual structure using smoke machines and other training scenarios. Training in a real building provides an experience that simply can’t be replicated in a classroom or training tower—and helps our crews stay prepared for the challenges they may encounter on an emergency call.

We’re incredibly grateful to West Valley Hospital for partnering with us and helping us provide this valuable training opportunity to our firefighters 🚒🤝

And don’t worry, Dallas! 🚦 Traffic should not be impacted by the training. The only potential delay may be a little rubbernecking from passing motorists wondering what’s going on! 👀😉

We appreciate our community partners who help us train harder, prepare better, and ultimately provide better service to the community we proudly serve 🫶🏼

We would like to introduce 2 of our 3 summer/wildland staff, who are generously funded by the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office (OSFM). This is Gavin (right) and Caleb (left). These OSFM summer staff members will assist crews with emergency calls. You will also see these individuals around town completing various assignments, including hydrant inspections, wildland defensible space evaluations and other tasks. Thank you to OSFM for the ability to staff these individuals to help make our community safer.

***The leak has been fixed and residents are now allowed to return to their homes. Thank you for your patience during this extended incident. Your safety is of the upmost importance to us! ❤️ NW Natural will be remaining in the area throughout the night to restore gas service to their customers.

At about 2:30 on Friday afternoon DF&EMS responded to a reported gas leak on the 200 blk of SW Ash St. At the direction of NW Natural, firefighters along with Dallas Police began making notifications and evacuating residents in the area of SW Ash between SW Church and SW Fairview for safety precautions.

*Please avoid this area while NW Natural and our first responders are working.

*If you have been contacted by emergency crews to evacuate we will update this post as we receive information.

Current update regarding the Oak Villa Fire.

They are starting to release fire crews from the scene, and the fire is now approximately 50% contained. Please continue to stay clear of the area to allow the remaining crews to work safely.

Thank you.

Our emergency crews are currently very active responding to multiple incidents in the area.

We are receiving water supply for suppression support on the Oak Villa Fire, and we are also supporting a Life Flight landing near Dallas High School for a medical call.

Please stay clear of both areas to allow Fire and EMS crews to safely serve the community.
