Paulding County Fire/Rescue Paulding County Fire & Rescue provides fire protection, suppression, rescue, and EMA. We ensure the best possible service for our community.

The Fire / Rescue Department of Paulding County provides fire protection, suppression, rescue, and emergency services. We believe the pursuit of excellence and demonstrating high professional standards are critical to our work. The Fire Department's mission is to:
•Provide response for the suppression of fires
•Provide emergency medical response for assistance in life-threatening medical emergen

cies
•Provide emergency services to reduce injuries or death in disasters (natural or man-made)
•Provide inspections, investigations, and code enforcement related to fire service
•Promote fire prevention
The Paulding County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) provides support to local officials, businesses, and citizens to plan and prepare before disasters strike. The EMA office supports state and federal disaster relief programs and coordinates immediate aid to families by local community service organizations.

Congratulations to Sergeant Turner Edwards, recipient of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce - Georgia’s 2026 Firefighter of the Year Award!

Since joining Paulding County Fire & Rescue in March 2022, Sgt. Edwards has distinguished himself through his character, professionalism and dedication to service. A trusted leader at Station 2, he is known for remaining calm under pressure, taking initiative and encouraging those around him. He is the kind of firefighter and officer everyone wants on their crew.

Sgt. Edwards is also deeply committed to professional growth. During the past year, he completed eight advanced fire service courses in areas including technical rescue, incident command, fire investigation and aerial apparatus operations—many on his own time. He is also pursuing opportunities to serve on PCFR’s Medical Operations Team and continue his development through the Fire Officer series.

Beyond the fire service, Sgt. Edwards is a devoted husband, father, man of faith and friend who consistently treats others with kindness and respect.

Paulding County Fire units respond to single-engine plane crash, September 3rd 2026, 8:07pm:

C-Shift: Engine 12, Engine 7, Engine 1, Squad 1, Rescue 4, Battalion 1 & 2, 3410 and Air & Light filled our response, along with multiple Paulding County Sheriff’s Office deputies and multiple MetroAtlanta ambulances.

The occupants of the plane were able to call 911 and our friends at Paulding County E-9-1-1 Communications Center did an excellent job of helping us locate them quickly.

Our units were rapidly searching the reported area within a few minutes of dispatch. Contact was first made at the wreckage around 12 minutes after initial dispatch. The plane was located deep in the woods, just east of our local airport.

All of our units and public safety partners began to convene at this location.

We want to commend all of our units, who worked very hard to remove the victims from the plane, while treating their wounds and carrying them through unsteady terrain to awaiting ambulances.

In approximately 38 minutes after initial dispatch, both occupants were transported to a local area hospital with serious injures.

Multiple agencies are working together to continue this investigation and more information will be released as soon as it is available. Great work to all and our thoughts and prayers are with those affected.

It is our honor and privilege to serve Paulding County, in any aspect we may encounter.

PCFR has taken another significant step toward improving firefighter safety and operational readiness to serve our citizens, with the delivery of 23 new Bullard QXT Pro Thermal Imaging Cameras (TICs).

The new thermal imagers represent a major investment in technology that provides firefighters with enhanced visibility and critical information while operating in smoke-filled, low-visibility, and high-temperature environments.

Thermal imaging cameras allow firefighters to identify heat signatures that may otherwise be impossible to see with the naked eye. During emergency operations, this technology can assist crews with locating victims, improving firefighter orientation and situational awareness, identifying changing fire conditions, locating hidden fire during overhaul, and supporting more informed tactical decision-making.

PCFR’s new Air & Light truck is almost here!

Yesterday we completed the final inspection of our new Air & Light Truck and we expect to take delivery in one week.

This specialized apparatus provides critical lighting and breathing-air support during structure fires and other extended emergency operations.

Thank you to our Paulding County citizens, the Board of Commissioners, as well as the work of our Apparatus and Equipment Committees throughout the 18-month planning, design, procurement, and manufacturing process. A huge shout out to the entire team from Williams Fire Apparatus, INC for engineering, fabricating, and assembling this amazing custom truck.

We look forward to putting the new Air & Light unit into service to support our firefighters as they protect citizens of Paulding County!
