What is a safe haven Baby Box?

A safe haven baby box offers a compassionate and secure lifeline for mothers in crisis, who are unable to care for their newborns, providing them with a beacon of hope.

The Ennis Fire Department is one of 21 locations in Texas to house a Safe Haven Baby Box, a testament to the community's commitment to protecting the most vulnerable.
In recent weeks, a courageous mother made a heart-wrenching decision to anonymously surrender her child here in Ennis, knowing that her baby would be enveloped in care and receive the vital help needed.

Monica Kelsey, Founder and CEO of Safe Haven Baby Boxes, spoke at today's ceremony, her voice filled with conviction. “The Safe Haven Baby Box saves lives, offering a sanctuary of no shame, no blame, and no names, where mothers can find solace and newborns can embark on a safe journey” said Monica.
With 491 Safe Haven Baby Boxes across the United States, her company is a shining example of compassion in action, a lifeline for mothers and a safe haven for newborns.

Yesterday was an incredible day at the Polka Festival, filled with a 10k run, our 60th polka parade, and a vibrant downtown festival and dance hall celebration.
