Dear Dallas High School Class of 2026,

Today is the day.

For some of you, it probably feels like graduation took forever to get here.

For your parents, we're pretty sure it happened in the blink of an eye.

But, here you are 🎓

Whether your future includes college, a trade, the military, a career, or a plan that hasn't quite come together yet, remember that success isn't a single path. It's finding the one that's right for you.

Today, celebrate your accomplishments, the obstacles you've overcome, and the people who helped you along the way.

Make memories. Have fun. Look out for one another.

Tonight is a celebration. Make sure tomorrow is too.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. We are proud of you. 👏

It's Friday ☀️

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and somewhere in a classroom a student is staring at the clock waiting for that final bell.

To all the students finishing up the school year today: congratulations.

To all the teachers, staff, bus drivers, and parents: thank you.

It's a beautiful day. Get outside, enjoy it, and kick off summer safely.

And a few friendly reminders: put the phone down, leave some space, and use your turn signal.

Make good decisions today. We're all rooting for you. 😎

National Heat Awareness Day serves as a reminder that heatstroke happens faster than we think — especially for kids.

🌡️ NEVER leave a child inside a vehicle.
🌡️ ALWAYS look before you lock.

🚨 FIELD DAY REPORT 🚨

Field Day in elementary and intermediate school is basically the equivalent of prom season for high schoolers. It’s one of the biggest events of the year. Everybody is excited, and it’s a clear sign that the school year is almost over and summer break is right around the corner ☀️

Things escalated quickly during the school’s annual Field Day activities after Officer Cummings accepted a tug-of-war challenge from a group of students who were taking the competition very seriously.

Officer Cummings attempted to counter the situation using experience, leverage, and what can only be described as “dad strength.”

Unfortunately for him, the student teams came prepared.

Witnesses reported a highly competitive scene involving yelling, laughter, aggressive rope pulling, and at least one moment where Officer Cummings may have reconsidered his life choices. 🤣

In the end, the students proved they were not about to surrender the rope without a fight.

In all seriousness, events like this are one of the best parts of the SRO program. Huge thanks to the students, teachers, and staff for including Officer Cummings in the fun and making Field Day a great day for everyone involved 👏
