The season of giving is well underway! Though North Texas Day of Giving is on 9/17, we're encouraging our supporters to donate early! Help us hit our goal of $100,000 and make a difference for those impacted by domestic violence.

Your contribution supports life-saving services like our transitional housing program, which provides an additional layer of support beyond emergency shelter for up to 18 months. Our single-family, fully furnished apartments are stocked with all the basic houseware items our families need while they focus on permanent housing, employment opportunities, or furthering education.

Early giving for has officially begun! You can make your gift to The Family Place from now until September 17.

Last year, our 24/7/365 crisis hotline spoke to 15,722 crisis callers and 14,069 callers seeking information or referrals. 100% of those crisis callers who completed the hotline assessment made a safety plan. The season of giving has returned! September 17, 2026, is North Texas Giving Day, the largest community-wide giving event in the nation. And though the giving culminates in September, you don't have to wait to make your impact!

Here at TFP, we couldn’t let the school year start without providing one last day of fun for our young residents. This carousel is dedicated to all the fun we had hosting our very own kid’s carnival!

From 10a to 4p, about 60 of our resident children happily exhausted themselves with a day of water slides, bounce houses, face painting, arts and crafts, snow cones, a movie, and plenty of fun and games. By the end of our time together, we were surrounded by faces that held as much joy as they did face paint.

We want to extend hearty thank yous to the board members who sponsored the event, the volunteers—both staff and nonstaff—who helped keep our kids organized and safe, and to AmRisc, who generously donated backpacks full of school supplies to our young clients.

The continued generosity of our supporters and advocates helps make days like this one possible. 💜

Don’t let the name fool you. Though we call ourselves The Family *Place*, it takes far more than any one building, location, or facility to provide services to thousands of survivors of family violence a year. Today we’re putting the spotlight on one of our favorites: the boutique.

The idea behind the boutique is simple—make it as easy as possible for clients to receive the free, high-quality, new and gently used garments donated from the Dallas community to our resale shop.

Each week, resale shop team members restock the three boutique locations directly accessible to our shelter, counseling, and other nonresidential clients—which means that any survivor in need of young men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes doesn’t even have to go the resale shop to pick out what they need from its racks.

If you’re in the North Texas area and want to donate your new or gently used items, you can find our resale shop on the southeast corner of the Park Forest Shopping Center at 11722 Marsh Lane, Dallas, Texas 75229.

Mark your calendar and grab your tickets! This October, The Family Place's Community Advisory Council is launching a brand-new event, Lyrics & Laughter.

The evening promises to entertain and stir through spoken word from accomplished poet and author Rebecca Dupas, smooth jazz from talented singer-songwriter and saxophonist Dean Mills, a live art demonstration from a local artist, and more. While you mix and mingle with our Dallas supporters, enjoy the debut of our soon-to-be-revealed signature drink.

All proceeds raised from the event go to The Family Place, a North Texas nonprofit delivering emergency shelter, counseling, legal support and long-term services to survivors of family violence—supporting individuals and families wherever the need arises.

We are heartbroken by the tragic killing of North Texas educator and mother Vera Pitulic, who was found dead inside her car on July 21, 2026, alongside Interstate 35E in Carrollton, TX. Police arrested Pitulic's boyfriend on a murder charge after investigations revealed the two were seen together two days earlier at a pool party, where friends told police the couple had argued. According to law enforcement, evidence recovered at her boyfriend's home further connected him to the crime.

Our CEO, Tiffany Tate, had the chance to speak with CBS News about the growing concern surrounding the increase in DV-related murders. But, as Tiffany reminds us, it's not only physical violence that we need to be aware of. "People are constantly looking for bruises and for black eyes and those kinds of things when hoping to identify domestic violence, but there's financial abuse, emotional abuse, religious abuse, and there are victims suffering in all of these areas every single day, and so the biggest takeaway is don't just look for the obvious."
