🪱🔍 First graders put their observation skills to work earlier this week as they explored the difference between living and nonliving things! Students examined a real worm and compared it to a gummy worm, discussing characteristics that make something living, such as growing, moving, and needing food and water. Learning comes alive when students can investigate with their own eyes! 🌱✨

✨ It's never just another Wednesday at Shelton! From walking cones, to a few Kinder Cubs earning their very first Principal's Award, to our new Safety Patrol members being sworn in by Officer Jones, our students are doing GREAT things every day. We are so proud of their hard work, leadership, and growth! 💙🐻

💜 Shelton Relay for Life Shirt Fundraiser 💜

Help us support Shelton Elementary's Relay for Life team! Shirts are available for $25, and all proceeds will support the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

👕 Students and staff will wear their shirts each Wednesday during Warrior Wednesdays as we honor and support those affected by cancer.

💜 With every shirt purchased, you'll receive a paper shirt to decorate in memory or honor of a loved one touched by cancer. These will be displayed in the Annex throughout the school year.

🌦️📚 Mrs. Daniell's class became meteorologists today in the Media Center! Using PocketLab sensors, students measured and graphed humidity, temperature, and light while learning how weather forecasts are made. They also practiced using nonfiction text features to find and understand information like real scientists. 🔬☀️🌧️

Learning came to life last week! Mr. Dyer from Georgia Power visited our students to share about his career as a lineman and how it connects to our electricity standard.

We are so thankful for community members who give back to our schools and help students make real-world connections. Thank you for investing in the next generation! 💙

As a reward for being our top Boosterthon grade-level winners, students enjoyed watching teachers race in inflatable costumes. There was plenty of laughter, cheering, and school spirit all around!
